Logo projectors put your brand where people actually look
After dark, people walking past your door are looking at their phones, their feet and the few feet of sidewalk ahead. A logo projector puts your name right there, bright and sharp, for less per night than a cup of coffee. Here’s how to place one so it works.
Why a logo projector outworks a sign after dark
A printed sign does nothing once the sun goes down unless you light it. An illuminated sign costs real money and usually a permit. A logo projector is a small weatherproof spotlight with your logo inside, and it turns the surfaces around your door into signage: the walkway, the wall, the floor of your entrance.
It also lands where attention already is. Pedestrians scan the ground in front of them. Drivers scan building faces. A logo sitting in either place gets seen without anyone having to look up at a sign board.
The other quiet advantage is change. Swap the lens and your “Grand opening” becomes your regular logo, or a holiday version, or an arrow to the side entrance. No reprinting, no vinyl scraper.
“Car door logo projectors” are tiny puddle lights that show a car brand’s badge on the ground when you open the door. They’re a different product entirely, and we don’t sell them. This page is about projecting your business logo.
Plan your logo projector placement
Pick the spot you have in mind. We’ll suggest the model, the mounting position and the logo size to expect, and work out what it costs to run each month.
Power uses the G10’s rated draw (about 70 W or 130 W). “Cost per night” spreads today’s projector price and three years of power across every night of those three years.
Logo projector vs the usual storefront signage
Each has its place. This is how they compare for a small business that wants to be seen at night.

Rules for projecting onto public sidewalks vary by city. Projecting onto your own property is usually the simplest route.
Who gets the most from a logo projector
The door that says “come in”
A warm logo on the sidewalk reads as open and inviting from half a block away. On a patio it doubles as ambience.
Your name in the foot traffic
Malls and main streets are full of signs above eye level. A logo underfoot is the one people walk into.
Lobby moments
A projected crest on the entrance floor makes a small reception feel like a brand. It photographs well, too.
Service lanes and showrooms
Lane markers, “Drive in here,” and the brand logo on the showroom floor at night.
Event welcomes
A wedding couple’s monogram tonight, a conference sponsor tomorrow. It’s the same projector with a different lens.
Wayfinding that doesn’t wear
Visitor parking arrows and floor safety marks that no forklift can scuff off.
Choosing a logo projector without the jargon
Most logo projectors on marketplaces are sold with video-projector numbers: lumens, resolution, contrast ratios. For a gobo-style logo projector those numbers tell you very little. Three things decide whether it works.
- Distance and darkness. These decide the wattage. Our throw calculator gives a straight answer for the G10.
- Weather rating. Outside, IP65 at the very least. The G10 is IP67, dust-tight and waterproof.
- The logo lens. Is your artwork included, and in what quality? Glass carries fine detail and color. See the custom gobo studio to check yours.
Then think about aftercare. LED sources like the G10’s are rated around 30,000 hours, so the thing you’ll actually maintain is a clean lens and a timer that switches it on at dusk.
60 W for doors, lobbies and walls. 110 W for facades and lots. Upload your logo as a PDF.
Logo projector questions
What is a logo projector?
A compact spotlight with a lens made from your logo. It projects that logo onto a surface such as a sidewalk, wall, floor or building. Most business logo projectors are LED gobo projectors.
How much does a logo projector cost to run?
Very little. The 60 W G10 draws about 70 W, so six hours a night uses roughly 13 kWh a month. At 17¢ per kWh that’s around $2.20. The planner above does the math with your own numbers.
Can a logo projector be used outdoors?
Yes, if it’s weather-rated. The G10 is IP67 and rated from -20 °C to 40 °C (-4 °F to 104 °F). Outdoors it looks best from dusk onward.
How big will my logo be?
With the G10, roughly one-third of the distance between the projector and the surface. At 5 m (16 ft) that’s about 1.7 m (5.5 ft) across. Use the throw calculator for exact sizing.
Can I get a custom logo projector with my own logo?
Yes. Every G10 ships with one custom lens made from the artwork you upload on the product page. Extra lenses for other designs are quoted by email.
Do I need permission to project my logo on the sidewalk?
It depends on your city. Many cities don’t regulate light on your own storefront, but some do regulate projections onto public sidewalks. A quick call to your local planning or sign office is worth it.
